Sambar/ Temple dal/Bhandara dal/Yellow Cucumber dal/Dosakai dal/Gudumakai dal

Ingredients:

2 cups of Toor dal
Chopped yellow Cucumber/Gudamakai
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Salt as per req.
2 tsp oil
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves
Tamarind juice - 3 spoons
Pinch of Turmeric & Asafoetida

Recipe:
1. Cook the toor dal in cooker.
2. Take a pan, add oil, let it heat, add mustard seeds, turmeric, asafoetida, curry leaves, chopped yellow cucumber and close the lid and cook it on low flame for 3 minutes or so.
3. Add tamarind juice, add little water and let the chopped cucumber pieces cook properly until they turn transparent.
4. Add chilli powder, grinded masala, salt, add green corriander(optional).
5.Let it boil for 5 minutes, dal ready!!
