Hayagriv/Temple Hayagriv
Ingredients:
Chana dal - 2 cups
Jaggery - 2 cups
Cardamom powder
Poppin seeds
Ghee - 2 spoons
Coconut slices - 1/2 cup
Recipe:
1. Cook Chana dal, it should not be finely cooked. Please refer picture.
2. Separate the water and Dal after cooking, donot throw water, keep it for later use.
3. Take a pan, add ghee, add slices of coconut, poppin seeds, dont roast the ingredients, just add all including jaggery and cooked dal, add only a portion of water so that Jaggery melts.
4. Once the Jaggery melts, add rest of the water and give a boil until the dal turns from yellow to little brown. Add cardamom powder.
