Ukadiche Kanole/Modak
Ingredients:
Chana dal - 1 cup
Jaggery - 1 cup
Maida/wheat flour - 2 cups
Cardamom - 1
Recipe:
1. Cook chana dal in cooker, once cooked finely, add jaggery and boil it to solid consistency. Peel the cardamom and add it as is while boiling. This is called 'Puran' in Marathi.
2. Make a dough of maida or wheat flour.
3. Take a small ball of dough and with hand make a round and fill in puran, press the corners, make semicircle shape as shown in picture.
4. After making all kanole, then steam it in an idli cooker similar to Idlis.
