Dosa Varieties

Ingredients: 

Batter:
  • Rice : 2 cups
  • Urad dal/Black split lentils: 1 cup
  • Toordal/Pigeon Peas : 1/2 cup
  • Fenugreek/Methi seeds: 1 TSP
All soak in water overnight, and Grind it to batter, add salt and keep it for 2 hours before you use it to make Dosa. 

There are number of Dosa varieties can be prepared at home with little variation:
  • Onion Dosa
  • Paneer Dosa
  • Cheese Dosa
  • Masala Dosa
  • Cucumber Dosa
  • Raw Mango Dosa / Mango pickle Dosa
  • Carrot & Beetroot Dosa
  • Guacamole Dosa

Plain Dosa: 
  • Take a flat pan and heat it on medium flame.
  • Pour a cup of batter and make it round.
  • Close the lid and let it cook.  
  • Take it out slowly from the sides and fold it, serve it hot.
  • Add butter on it to make butter dosa.

Onion Dosa

  • Same procedure to pour batter and make it round on flat pan
  • Add onions, chat masala and corriander.
  • Close the lid, let it cook.
  • Slowly take it out from all side, roll it and serve


Cheese Dosa
  • Same procedure to pour batter and make it round on flat pan
  • Add grated Cheese.
  • Close the lid, let it cook.
  • Slowly take it out from all side, roll it and serve
Masala Dosa
  • Same procedure to pour batter and make it round on flat pan
  • Add masala.
  • Close the lid, let it cook for 2 minutes.
  • Slowly take it out from all side, roll it and serve







Cucumber Dosa
  • Same procedure to pour batter and make it round on flat pan
  • Add cucumber, green chillies, chopped green chillies and chat masala.



  • Close the lid, let it cook for 2 minutes.
  • Slowly take it out from all side, roll it and serve
Raw Mango Dosa / Mango pickle Dosa
  • Same procedure to pour batter and make it round on flat pan
  • Add Grated raw Mango, chilli powder  and salt.




  • Close the lid , let it cook for 2 minutes.
  • Slowly take it out from all side, roll it and serve
Carrot & Beetroot Dosa
  • Same procedure to pour batter and make it round on flat pan
  • Add grated carrot, beetroot and chat masala.



  • Close the lid , let it cook for 2 minutes.
  • Slowly take it out from all side, roll it and serve
Guacamole Dosa
  • Same procedure to pour batter and make it round on flat pan
